Franklin D. Ellis

COLONA-Franklin D. Ellis, 89, of Colona, Illinois and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa and Pleasant Valley, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Davenport Memorial Park in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church of Davenport or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Frank was born November 9, 1932 in Osceola, Arkansas, the son of Charles & Allie (Spruill) Ellis. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
On June 27, 1952, Frank was united in marriage to Wanda Williams in Davenport and they celebrated 69 years of marriage together.
Frank owned and operated Modular Engineering and E, E & E Industries. As a Tool and Die engineer, he had also provided services for Deere & Company, Caterpillar, Sears Manufacturing and numerous other companies.
A fascinating storyteller, Frank captivated his friends and family with his life-long experiences. A true believer of Jesus Christ, he will be remembered for his love of his family and his humble nature.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Wanda; his son, Franklin Ellis of Davenport; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Ron Minnick of Colona; his grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Joseph and Zachary; his great-grandchildren, Kadyn and Kyrine; and his daughter-in-law, Katrina Bratton-Ellis of Arizona.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Randy Ellis; and his siblings, Lucille, Mary, Leon, Charles, Jim, Beuford, Billy and Roy.
