Frederick Ehlers Obituary

MORTON – Frederick C. Ehlers, Sr., 91, of Morton, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home.

He was born on March 13, 1934, in LeClaire, Iowa to Arvid and Roaine (Nesbit) Ehlers. Frederick married Betty Stark on July 7, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2021.

Surviving are his children, Frederick "Rick" Ehlers, Jr. and Tammy Couchman, both of Morton; three grandchildren, Kara Hokinson, Ryan Couchman and Ryne Ehlers and three great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Hokinson, Lucas Couchman and Lochlan Jenckes.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas and Ron Ehlers and Bill Miller and one sister, Barbara Miller.

Frederick was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

He retired from Caterpillar in Mount Joy, Iowa working in security and first aid and was also a fire inspector.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
