December 27, 1944 - January 2, 2026
Jack Lee Jacobsen, 81, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on January 2, 2026. Funeral Services take place at 11 am on Wednesday, January 7th, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs one hour prior from 10 am to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial immediately follows the funeral service at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Lemke Funeral Homes is honored to serve the family of Jack Jacobsen during this difficult time.
Jack was born on December 27, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa. He was the son of Heinrich Sr. and Mary (Ferguson) Jacobsen. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Later he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Iowa. He worked as a computer programmer.
Jack was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970.
During the many years he spent in Maryland, he loved sailing and lived on his sailboat. Jack loved the outdoors especially canoeing. He also loved to dance and was a real History buff.
Jack is survived by his sister - Ellen Ketelsen of Camanche, eleven nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents and three brothers - Christian, Martin Jr. and Hans and one niece - Susan.
Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Parkinson's Foundation in Jack's name.

Such sad news to hear of the passing of this fine man. My favorite polka partner, beloved friend. So many years ago, but the memories will always be treasured. Rest easy, Jack. You will always live in my heart.
