Jim was born on January 26, 1937, the son of Ernest and Lorriane (Hood) Lincoln in New Boston Township, Illinois. After graduation, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1958. Jim married Lorna Weih on May 17, 1958. Jim worked for 15 years at Farmers Grain and Lumber in Sunbury before taking on the role of Area Field Manager for Pioneer Hybrid Seed Corn, retiring in 1999. He cherished relaxing days spent fishing and exploring new places through his travels. Jim was a devoted member of several organizations, including the Durant American Legion, Rock Island Moose Club, Eastern Iowa Polka Club, and the Walcott Community Club. His commitment to his community also included serving three terms on the Sunbury School Board.

Jim will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Colleen (Jim) Petty, Susan (Richard) Lyon and Christa (Joe) Sloup; five stepchildren, Kevin Paper, Greg (Sheri) Paper, Beth (Brian) Beverlin, Craig (Kelly) Schnoor and Brian (Lynette) Schnoor; three grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; four great grandsons; nine step great grandchildren; and one brother in-law, Frank Pallischeck.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lorraine; a sister, Virginia Pallischeck; and one granddaughter, Brittany Petty.

Hugs and Prayers to Mary and the entire family! Jim was one of a kind and was welcoming to everyone- visits and "catch up" talks with Jim were always special. I'm so happy we had a great visit and a little "unscheduled tour" at the Pioneer Anniversary celebration. That was my favorite memory of the day! Please know our family is thinking of you and we wish we could be there to celebrate him.
Hugs!

I was very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. When I first moved to Walcott he was one of the first people I met. I was walking my dogs and he drove up behind me, stopped, rolled down the window and said "Smile!" , which made me smile and he said "That's better!"
Every time he saw me after that he called me Smiley.
He and Mary always had a dog treat ready whenever I walked by with my dogs.

He even "forced" me to dance at the polka club dances, even though I told him I would probably step on his feet, he wouldn't take no for an answer.

I only knew him for 10 years but he was very patriotic, kind and made me smile. I will miss seeing him.

Hugs to Mary and his family, I'm sure you will miss him very much.

I only got to talk with Jim in person a couple of times when he visited in Clarksville, but he was also my friends dad. So we sent messages back and forth all the time through Christa. He was a wonderful friend to me with his little messages of encouragement. We both had the same medical problems so he kept me going and I tried to do the same for him. I know I'll miss those messages from him.
R.I.P. Jim you bravely fought the fight.

Mary, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My Mom & Jim LeCleir told me today and my heart goes out to you and all of his loved ones. I'm glad I was able to be in his (and your) company at the Circa play house this past Oct. He was a fun guy.
I pray for your peace.
With sincere condolences,
Lori
