Jerry A. Morley, 71, of Davenport, IA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with his loving wife, Belinda, by his side.
A family burial with military honors will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery on Friday, October 15, 2021. The family invites all friends and family to meet at the Runge Mortuary at 10:30 a.m. to follow procession to the Arsenal. There will be a celebration of life with dinner at First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark St. Davenport, IA, at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Jerry was born August 10, 1950 in Barron, WI, son of Elsie (Amundson) and Donald Morley. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 12 years and continued with his career, retiring in 2013 from the Rock Island Arsenal as a technical writer TACOM. He loved his job and everyone he worked with.
Jerry was one of the good guys, known for his patience and quick wit. He loved singing, praising Jesus, gardening, fishing, and hunting. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Belinda; mother-in-law, Mary Hodge; children, Tonya (Robert) Gray, Troy (Janie) Morley, and Tamera "morlegs" Drury; siblings, Julius (Cindy) Morley, Jenny (David) Licht, Joy (Paul) Dery, and Pam (Larry) Bronstad; grandchildren: Kattie Romin, Jessica (Matt) Adams, Allen Morley, Jerrad Gahagan, Abbie, Anna, and Ashlyn; several great-grandchildren having a special bond with, Maelyn "Almer", and Benjamin; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jeff; and sister, Judy.
He is now singing and walking with Jesus.
