BETTENDORF-Jimmie C. Mangels, 84, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, Jaunary 2, 2021 at Genesis East Medical Center. Private funeral services will be held.

His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Jim was born on the family farm in Scott County, Iowa on May 23, 1936. He was the son of Herbert and Norma (Stoltenberg) Mangels. He married Thelma L. Lageman on September 5, 1959 in Colorado. He served in the US Army and later transferred to the Army Reserves. He retired from Alcoa in 1999 after 38 years of service. He was a former member of Faith United Church of Christ and was an avid Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Thelma, son, Mark, Coralville, daughters: Julia (Steve) Melchert and Lisa (Dale) Lallier , both of Bettendorf, grandchildren: Nathan (Annmarie) Melchert, Muscatine and Nicole Melchert, (Kalem Hanig) Johnston, IA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arline Levetzow and a brother, Bill.
