Joan G. (Hueser) Gruenwald

February 1, 1931 - April 16, 2025

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Joan G. Gruenwald, 94, of Davenport, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 417 N. Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the Mass in the gathering space at church. Joan died April 16, 2025 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Joan Hueser was born on February 1, 1931 in Davenport, one of thirteen children born to Stephen and Theresa (Boeckmann) Hueser. She was united in marriage to William H. Gruenwald on January 22, 1965 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1993.

Joan worked in Share Holder Relations at the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for thirty-five years, retiring in 1986. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Plus 60, and the National TTT Society – EK Chapter. Joan was a great lover of dogs and had Afghan hounds before she began adopting from the Humane Society.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard, Arnold, Hubert Hueser, Catherine Bein, Paul, Joseph, Walter Hueser, Mary Ash, Theresa Guy, her twin sister, Jean Miller, Rosemary Ehlers, and Rita Havacko. May they rest in peace.
