Joanne Marie Zirkel, 77, of Davenport, passed away, Sunday, January 5, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center, Davenport.
A graveside service will take place at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to CASI.
Joanne was born on June 12, 1947 in Davenport, daughter of Joseph and Kathleen (Janney-Duffield) Carstensen.
Joanne was very active at CASI and enjoyed crafting with her friends. She found joy in having lunch with her girls twice a month. Above all, she loved her two grandchildren and following their sporting activities. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Jason (Bekka) Zirkel and Brian (Steph) Zirkel; grandsons, Tait and Kinnick; uncle and aunt, Jim and Mary Janney; and best friend, Mary Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Carstensen; mother and step-father, Kathleen and Harley Duffield; brothers, Ed and Dick Carstensen; and uncle and aunt, Mike and Pat Mellenger.

Jason and Brian, I am so sorry for your loss. I was very fortunate to have worked with your mom for 15+ years and enjoyed our post-retirement, monthly lunches to "catch up". She will be missed. RIP Jo.
