John Perion

1948 - 2025

John F. Perion age 77 of Geneseo, Ill. formerly of Clinton, Iowa passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025 at his home. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 15th at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. Visitation will be held Saturday 10 a.m. until the service at the church. Following the Mass a funeral luncheon will be held at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. John was born on April 20, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Raymond and Winifred (Hansen) Perion. He graduated from Northeast High School of Elvira. He married Elizabeth Enwright on April 22, 1972 in Clinton, Iowa. John worked at Caterpillar in Davenport, Iowa for over 22 years. He retired from Deco Tool & Supply as a deliveryman for 17 years. He also farmed and raised cattle with his father. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. John enjoyed going to NHRA races in Peoria, Ill. with his nephews, the outdoors, mowing his grass, and spending time with his grandchildren. John and Betty were spontaneous travelers, one of his favorite trips was to Alaska.

John is survived by his wife, Betty Perion of Geneseo, Ill.; two daughters, Andrea (Erik) Franzen of Poland, Maine and Bridget (Chris) Russell of Geneseo, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Lillian "Lilly" and Ayden Franzen, and Owen Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
