Judith Hertig Obituary
January 17, 1947 - October 6, 2024
Judith "Judy" Ann Hertig, 77, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home from an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport at 1:00 pm. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Judy was born in Davenport, Iowa on January 17, 1947 to Harvey and Mildred (Lee) Hertig.
She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1965. Judy retired from the former Osteopathic Hospital (later Trinity Medical Center) after 30 years in the housekeeping department. Judy enjoyed listening to 1950's, 1960's and 1970's music and watching old comedy shows. She did her best to solve the nightly puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. Bingo playing and watching Cubs baseball were also favorite pastimes of Judy's.
Judy was a devout Catholic- rarely missing weekly mass, a church bazaar or other church fundraisers.
Judy is survived by her niece Wendy (John Miletich) Frakes, Bettendorf, Iowa; nephew Wade Fanth, Bettendorf, Iowa; and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; sister, Mary in 1947; sister, Carrie Fanth in 2023; nephew, Steven Fanth in 1994; and nephew-in-law, Roy "Bill" Frakes in 1992.
Memorial donations may be made to Kings Harvest Pet Animal Shelter or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
