Kathy was born on January 3, 1962, and lived most of her life within the North Scott community, primarily in the towns of Long Grove and Eldridge, Iowa.
After high school, Kathy pursued nannying as a profession. First, she was a caregiver for a family in Rye Brook, N.Y., and later for a family in Highland Park, Ill. She brought so much laughter to these families and enjoyed keeping in touch with them.
Kathy continued her vocation as a child caregiver throughout her life and devoted herself to supporting children with autism. For many years, Kathy was employed as a special education aide for the North Scott School District and worked to bring joy to all her students.
Later in life, she devoted herself to her family, caring for her parents and her great-nieces and nephews. She was known for her incredibly loving nature and infectious laugh, constantly bringing joy to her family and friends. Crafting, puzzling and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs were Kathy's favorite pastimes.
She would regularly meet with her close friends for lunch dates filled with laughter.
Her family cherished her warmth, joy and humor. She is survived by her parents, Frederick and Marilyn (Cuppy) Jansen of Long Grove, Iowa; her brothers, Kevin M. (Wanda) Jansen of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Kris M. (Susan) Jansen of Long Grove; her nieces and nephews, Kyle Jansen of Eldridge, Kelly (Aaron) Keeney of Bettendorf, Luke Jansen of Calmar, Iowa, Mitch Jansen of Davenport, Iowa, Levi (Kathy) Jansen of Centennial, Colo., and Amber (Steve) Carlson of Long Grove; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and her sister-in-law, Leesa Jansen of Bettendorf; and many other relatives and wonderful friends.
