Kenny J. White, a longtime resident of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Palm Springs California. Surviving him is his second wife of 33 years, Jill Owens. Born on October 20, 1942, Kenny is also survived by his 3 beloved daughters (from his first marriage to Lynn White) Wendy Hamann, Heather Yoerger and Holly Gaskins and their 3 terrific husbands, Andy, Paul and Willie, respectively. He also dearly loved his 6 grandchildren, Drew, Logan and Layne Hamann, Mitchell, Tyler and Caden Yoerger, and 1 great grandchild, Jalen Hamann. Kenny is also survived by his brothers Rob (Pam), of Eldridge Iowa, and David (Frances), of Anacortes, Washington, and was preceded in death by his parents Joseph (Doc) and Dorothy White.

Kenny graduated from St. Ambrose college with a teaching degree. But he was best known in the Davenport area for his days as the bass player for the legendary local rock band, The Night People. Kenny formed the band with his good friend and lead singer Mike Stroehle. The band also played as the opening act for headliners such as Jimi Hendrix, was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 and played to a sold-out crowd for their 50th anniversary at the Col Ballroom. Professionally, Kenny went on to match his musical talents in wood artistry, construction and residential remodeling. He'll be sorely missed by his family and friends alike, who will take solace in having known his generous spirit over the years.

Visitation and services for Kenny will be held at Runge funeral home, 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa, on April 17, at 10 a.m. and 12:00 noon, respectively, with interment to follow at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, 2501 Eastern Ave., Davenport, Iowa.
