Larry J. Harm, 85, of Bettendorf, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. An additional Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Correctionville Golf Course from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Larry was born December 3, 1939, in Correctionville, the son of Fritz & Marjorie Harm. He was a 1958 graduate of Washta High School. During high school, Larry had been class president for two years and was also president of his youth group. He was homecoming king and class valedictorian. Larry ran track, played basketball, was quarterback on the football team and once pitched a no-hitter with the baseball team. Larry went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.

Larry was united in marriage to Deanna J. "Dee" Cowan in 1959.She preceded him in death in 2014.

Larry had retired from the IH Case as a maintenance foreman; he was employed from 1965 to 1997 and again from 2000 to 2004.

Those left to honor his memory include his grandchildren, Rhianna, Anna and Casey; his great-grandchildren, Ella & Emersyn; his sister, Sandra Wright of Correctionville; his daughter-in-law, Tracey Faenza of Des Moines; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Deanna, Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeffrey Harm; his siblings, Donna (Bud) Seablom and Kenneth (Phyllis) Harm; and his brother-in-law, LeRoy Wright.
