Mary Ann Hedin

1935 - 2025

Mary Ann Hedin of Davenport, IA, formerly longtime resident of Lombard, IL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 22nd, 2025. She was the dear wife of the late James Hedin; loving mother of Marianne (Deacon Frank) Agnoli and the late Judi (Ron) Pederson-Cornick; Grandma Duckie of Eric Pederson, Francis Agnoli, Mary (Danny) Ready; Great-Grandma Duckie of Tylor Pederson, Hailey Pederson. Mary Ann was born at home in Chicago on December 22, 1935 to Emil and Antoinette Jablonsky. She married James in 1956, and they spent 41 years together until his death in 1997. Mary Ann was proud to live most of her life in Lombard, "the lilac town" and to be a longtime parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Her faith was extremely important to her and she would spend many hours each day in prayer. She enjoyed the simple beauty of the natural world and delighted in her encounters with cats, dogs, birds, butterflies, squirrels (if they were behaving) and, of course, ducks.

Mary Ann also found great joy partaking in and sharing good food. "Gifts of Food" was definitely her love language. Any donations in Mary Ann's name can be made to Catholic Relief Service, 228 West Lexington St, Baltimore, MD 21201 or to your local food pantry. A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Funeral Vigil service at 7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton Ave, Villa Park. Additional prayers will be offered on Saturday November 11, at 9:30 at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Lombard, IL. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
