Just seventy-two hours after coming into the world, Mateo Patrick Poole, son of Karoline Welch and Daequan Poole, passed away peacefully in his parents' arms at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, IA, on May 23, 2021. During that fleeting time, he touched many lives and will be loved by all. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Cremtory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born Thursday, May 20, 2021, and weighing 1 lbs., 15.7 oz., Mateo showed true strength during his brief stay on earth.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Karoline Welch and Daequan Poole, Davenport, IA; maternal grandparents, Pat Welch, LeClaire, IA, and Cassandra Munoz (Fernando), Wadsworth, OH; and paternal grandparents, Rachel and Kris Poole, Davenport, IA.
Mateo joins his uncles, Bradley Welch and Cade LeMaster, in eternal rest.
