My sister was inspired by his success and learned to accept herself. On a daily basis, my family saw a change for the better and became much happier. I cannot thank him enough for all that he's done for people with special needs. He will be genuinely missed by the millions of people whose lives he's touched.

May Mr. Cusack rest in peace. What a spirit, and I can imagine he's once again enjoying his favorite sports in Heaven, with renewed vigor. Condolences to his loved ones. I hope the Special Olympics committee might initiate a scholarship, grant, or special trophy bearing the name of Michael Cusack, so that people continue to know his story and that dedicated Special Olympians continue to strive and thrive. I remember that moment in 1968, when the needs of handicapped individuals were uppermost in our minds, including our family members. Michael Cusack - - - now THERE was a soldier, THERE was a warrior, THERE was a HERO!
