Michael McCarty Obituary
Michael William McCarty
April 29, 1950 - October 28, 2025
Michael McCarty, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 75 years old.
Born on April 29, 1950, Michael lived a life guided by kindness, curiosity, and integrity. He was a lifelong learner and devoted family man. He found joy in the simple and meaningful - family gatherings, the natural beauty of the world, the harmony of music, a well-played round of golf, and the fulfillment of helping others grow and succeed. His laughter, wisdom, and warmth filled every room he entered, and his steady presence anchored those who loved him most.
Michael was a visionary leader and entrepreneur who believed deeply in the power of people and ideas. As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Applied OLAP, he helped shape the company from its early years into a thriving, innovative organization. His insight, steady leadership, and belief in collaboration inspired those around him, leaving a lasting mark on the company's culture and success.
Before joining Applied OLAP, Michael led and grew several telecommunications ventures in the U.S. and Argentina, and previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Sargent-Welch Scientific Company. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co., building the foundation for a lifetime of thoughtful, principled leadership.
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy, and their children Colleen, Shea, Hanora, and Maxwell; as well as his grandchildren, Reece, Vivian, Jasper, and Arlo. They will forever carry his legacy of love, perseverance, and generosity.
He was an avid golfer, embracing both the challenges and companionship of the game. Whether beneath the soft light of morning or in the laughter of a well-fought round, the golf course was his sacred ground - where competition was camaraderie, and every swing held a bond.
A celebration of life will be held on November 16, 2025, with family and friends at TPC Deere Run Golf Course, a place Michael cherished and where he could always be found on a Sunday morning.
