Michael Shane "Mikey" Reckers
September 16, 1974- June 17, 2022
DAVENPORT-Michael Shane "Mikey" Reckers, 47, of Davenport, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 29th at 2 pm, at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Mikey was born September 16, 1974 in Muscatine. He was the son of Jimmy Reckers and Jennifer (Mayfield) Myers. He graduated from Aledo High School where he participated in cross-country and track. He was an avid runner and enjoyed boating. As a Junior in high school, Mikey joined the Illinois National Guard and went on to serve with them for nine years. He loved to collect rocks and crystals.
He worked for a plastic manufacturing company in Aledo for a number of years and then worked as a supervisor at Titan Wheel prior to their closing. Most recently, he worked for several years at Retail Data Services.
Mikey also loved to hang out with his family and friends in his free time.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Jennifer "Penny" Myers, Geneseo, IL, father, Jimmy Reckers, Keithsburg, IL; siblings: Robert Myers, Davenport, Tina (Carl) Thompson, Milan, IL, Michelle (Chuck) Blaszczyk, Cambridge, IL, Charles (LaCosta) Myers, Aledo, IL and Melissa Ford, Keithsburg, IL as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and several special friends. His grandparents and aunt, Jeannie Staley preceded him in death.
