Our early memories of Dick are of family Xmas with children and adult cousins when Santa Clause came to Grandparents Alvin and Leota's house. Leota was the greatest cook and baker and that was probably a topper on picking Murna for his wife.
It was thrilling to hear and see all of Dick's works. Fun times were shared when he produced not one but two sailing cruisers. We were in awe. Then reading his book from his journal of sailing the river and the ocean was a great adventure. Myrna was a trooper. But I especially enjoyed the visit two years ago with Nell and them when they shared their memories and Dick telling of all his planning and building alone the beautiful house where we sat.

Nel, Jane & Steve, when we heard the news of your dad's passing so many memories flooded into our minds. Holidays were so much fun with your grandma (aunt Leoda) your mom and dad. Loved their visits to Florida. Short trips but lot's of good laughs and memories. We have the book your dad wrote with Jane. We have passed it through the family to read and told stories about Dick. You all were blessed to have him for so long. Hope your mom is doing ok. Sending love to all of you.

Dear Lynell, Jane and Steven. So sorry to hear and read about the passing of your father. Deepest sympathy for your loss, but precious memories flooded back in. Family gatherings and your dad always seemed to be in the midst of all of us cousins and our shenanigan's. Please know we are holding you all close in thought and prayer. With love and fond remembrance of an awesome man~ Gail Schmidt Hintz
