Robert L. Ivarson, 84, of Davenport, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at The Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Per his wishes there will be a private family graveside service. He will be laid to rest in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert was born September 27, 1939, in Bettendorf, IA, to Elwin and Elsa (Sunberg) Ivarson. He was united in marriage to Barbara Garnes on May 31, 1959, in Davenport. He was a graduate of Palmer College in Davenport with a degree in engineering.

He worked as a maintenance supervisor for numerous meat packing facilities throughout the states.

Robert had a love for the Iowa Hawkeyes and his favorite hobby was woodworking, including intarsia and hand carving. He was known for his many cowboy hats with feathers and had one for every season.

Those honoring his memory include, his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara; and his children: Laura (Doug) Kaltofen, Bettendorf and Mark (Dinah) Ivarson, TN; brother, Don, and sister, Karen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mike; and his granddaughter, Crystal.
