Ronald Anderson Obituary

Ronald Anderson

January 9, 1942 - November 21, 2025

Ronald H. Anderson, 83, of Davenport passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, with his wife, Janie by his side.

He was born on January 9, 1942, in Davenport to Frank and Hazel (Huffman) Anderson. Ron and Janie (Cheek) married on September 1, 1962. He worked as a plant engineering technician at Caterpillar retiring in 1992 after 26 years.

He loved the many road trips to spend time with his family. He especially loved time with his seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter and was very proud of them. His legacy of hard work, helping others, quick wit and meticulous car washing will live on in them. Everyone knew Ron as someone who would be there to do anything for them. He enjoyed restoring old cars and drag racing motorcycles. He was a member of Good Guys Rod and Custom Association and enjoyed hot rodding with his friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Janie; his three daughters, Katherine (Bob) Leverence of San Antonio, Suzan (Mark) Horn of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Teri (Tom) Kruse of Fox Island, Wash.; grandchildren, Josh (Jess) Kruse, Bobby Leverence, Luke Kruse, Jennifer (Barnes) Lerebours, Elias (Abs) Hubble-Horn, Jonathan Kruse and Emma (Corban) Phillips; his great-granddaughter, Lorelei Kruse; his brother, Gene Anderson; sisters-in-law, Janet (Jerry) Teel, Sheryl Wulf, Carol (Mike) Miller, and Margo Cheek and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and John Carter, Pat and Bob Hawk; sisters-in-law, Pat Anderson and Cleo Anderson; brothers-in-law, Roger Van Blaricom, Basil Cheek, and Bill Wulf; niece, Lisa Anderson; and nephews, Randy Anderson, Scott Heber, and Butch Anderson.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., December 5, 2025, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Davenport First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark St. A luncheon will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Davenport First Church of the Nazarene.

The family would like to thank Zuri, Amber, Scott and Brandee with Heartland Hospice for their loving care.
