Sally Marnell Obituary

Sally Buffum Marnell

April 3, 1948-May 6, 2023

Sally Buffum Marnell, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully from cancer at home in Durango, Colorado, on May 6, 2023. Born April 3, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, Sally's 75 years were marked by resilience and love for her family.

She is survived by her son, Matthew L Marnell, her daughter-in-law, Dr. Marnie J Thomson, her two young grandchildren Sonder James Marnell-Thomson and Pax Warren Marnell-Thomson, all of Durango, CO, her brothers Michael Buffum of Denver, CO, Daniel Buffum of Huntersville, NC, and Patrick Buffum of St. Louis, MO, and her sister Nancy Carr of Carbondale, IL.

Two years ago, Sally relocated to Durango, Colorado, from Tampa, Florida, to spend more time with her grandchildren, with whom she shares her strong and determined spirit.

A celebration of Sally's life will be held later this year. The Marnell-Thomson family would like to extend their thanks to everyone for their support during this difficult time.
