Steven was born on September 18, 1946, in Bettendorf, IA, the son of George and Betty Beeks Rose. On May 20, 1989, he found enduring love with Roine "Ree" Schroeder, creating many memories together and with their friends.
Steven was a dedicated patriot having served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, specializing in marksmanship with the Fort Hood Marksmanship Unit. His exceptional service earned him multiple awards and trophies. Following his military tenure, Steven became a journeyman pattern maker, contributing his talents to various pattern shops across western Illinois and eastern Iowa.
Steven's professional journey led him to the Rock Island Arsenal, where he initially worked as a pattern maker, advancing through various departments and roles. He retired with distinction as a program manager at the RIA headquarters. Even in retirement, his passion for projects persisted as he joined the John Deere retail store, finding joy in assembling toys and connecting with others.
Steven was an unwavering Iowa Hawkeye football fan, he held season tickets for many years, passionately supporting his team. Known for his strong opinions, he was always eager to share them, creating lively conversations with those who crossed his path.
Steven's legacy lives on through his children: Jeffrey (Leta) Rose, Joshua Rose, and Stephanie (Roger) Zielke; as well as stepdaughter, Julie Falline and Wendi (Todd) Sunlin. His love and warmth extended to his 14 grandchildren, whose lives were touched by his wisdom and kindness.
In addition to his wife, Ree; and his immediate family, Steven is survived by his siblings: Craig (Elaine) Rose, Cathy (Jim) Bone, and Debbie (Pat) Johnson.
We will forever remember Steven for his dedication, service, and the warmth he brought to every endeavor. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and enduring memories.
