Susan "Sue" V. Schmidt

Susan "Sue" V. Schmidt, 69, of Lady Lakes, FL, formerly of the Quad Cities, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the UF Health The Villages Hospital. A funeral service to honor her memory will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 10am and go until time of service. Burial will be following the service at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sue's name may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages, FL or to the American Cancer Association.
Sue was born December 12, 1952 to Victor and Maxine Schmidt in Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduating from The University of Iowa, Sue became a Registered Nurse and a Medical Surgical Nurse. Sue's love of nursing led her to become an assistant professor at Purdue University Calumet Campus Department of Nursing where she retired from in 2007. Sue was an avid runner; she completed 36 full marathons, 2 Ultras and the Bix just to name a few. She also loved to play tennis, go golfing, and water skiing.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughters Jennifer (David) Vittori and Amy (Dan) Macal; grandchildren: David Vittori, Taylor Vittori, Lucas Vittori, and Nora Macal; and companion Jim Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Steven Schmidt; sister-in-law Nancy Schmidt; Uncle Willard Schmidt, and an Aunt Norma.
