DAVENPORT-Funeral services for Wilma L. Webb, 92, of Davenport will be 11:00 am on Thursday, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Inurnment will take place on Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00 am to service time at the funeral home.
McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
Wilma passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport.
Wilma L. Sharpton was born on February 9, 1929 in Chanute, KS, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Applegate) Sharpton. She married Clarence Cheek in Dewey, OK in 1947. They were later divorced. She then married Eugene Webb on October 25, 1975. He preceded her in death in Nov 4, 2009.
She enjoyed reading crocheting and making crafts. She worked at Service Rubber in Rock Island for 11 years, retiring in 1979.
She is survived by her daughter; Regina (Robert) Moore of Davenport, Nancy Cheek of Davenport, Donna VanDeKrol of Washington, sons; Larry (Linda) Cheek of Moline, Kenneth (Mary) Cheek of Washington, Mark (Judy) Cheek of Cambridge, IL, 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Phillip Cheek, sister; Marilyn Fisher, brothers; Don Sharpton, Keith Sharpton, and Gene Sharpton.
Memorials may be directed to the Scott County Humane Society.
