Christopher Petersen Obituary
October 14, 2025
Early Tuesday morning on October 14, 2025, Christopher Glen Petersen, 77, passed away peacefully at MultiCare Valley Hospital after battling cancer.
Growing up on a ranch in Southern Idaho, Dr. Petersen graduated from The College of Idaho in Caldwell. He went on to earn his Medical Technology degree in Twin Falls. For several years, he worked in a hospital there until he enrolled in Pacific University in the Portland area. In 1977, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree and graduated with distinction. He then purchased an optometric practice in Quincy, Washington where he met his future wife, Norma. Together they raised two sons, Philip (Brandi) and Glen (Meg) and enjoyed their six grandchildren.
Dr. Petersen was an active supporter of the Quincy Community. In 2002, he received the Business of the Year Award. He was also a member of the Quincy Lions Club, the Quincy Presbyterian church, and a Mason and Shriner. After retiring to Liberty Lake, Dr. Petersen volunteered at the Shrine Hospital in Spokane and was an active member of the Post Falls Community Presbyterian church. His caring, thoughtful manner will be greatly missed.
Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
