Clarice Kemp

CLARICE WESEN KEMP Clarice Wesen Kemp, formerly of Littlefork, died at home on February 17, 2024. Clarice was born in Holmes City Township on August 11, 1936, the daughter of Marvin Wesen Sr and Hazel (Ronnie) Wesen. The family farmed in Douglas and Pope counties before moving to Littlefork, where Clarice was active in student activities and graduated from Littlefork High School. She attended Macalester College and graduated from Bemidji State College. Clarice worked in accounting and payroll, retiring from the University of Minnesota after 20 years of employment. She was a member of the Fast Break Club, supporting the U of M women's basketball team and traveled to New Orleans for their Final Four appearance in 2004. An avid Minnesota Twins fan, she would not accept phone calls while watching a game. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles and closely following politics and current events. Clarice is survived by daughters Celeste (Chuck) and Gretchen (Nathan); grandchildren Erin, Kenny, Hadley and Gunnar; three great-grandchildren; brother Clinton (Rebeca); four nieces and a nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Charles, brother Marvin Jr., sister Mavis and numerous cousins. A private interment will be held in Holmes City Township.
