Robert VanSickle Obituary

ROBERT ERVIN VAN SICKLE Robert Ervin Van Sickle died on October 8, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in International Falls. Robert was born on August 25, 1934, in Warren MN the son of Ervin and Norma (Lindgren) Van Sickle. He joined the military and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After the service, Robert moved to Canada where he lived for most of the middle years of his life. He moved back to the United States, where he cared for his mother for many years. He worked for Data Card Corporation in Shakopee, MN and at retirement moved to Int'l Falls to be closer to family. Robert was always there to help out and loved to come over for a beer or two. He didn't have children of his own, but his nieces and nephews and their children were of the upmost importance to him. He led a good life on his own terms; and he never missed a birthday card for a family member. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Norman Van Sickle; brother, William "Bill" Van Sickle; sister, Sally Van Baalen; sister-in-law, Barbara Vansickle, and brother-in-law, Leonard W. Groehler. Robert is survived by his sister, Patricia Groehler; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Services will be held at a later date.
