Ramona, CA–
Delone Langum passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018, at the Ramona Senior Manor in Ramona, CA, surrounded by her family. She was born November 6, 1927 at home in Bristol Township, MN to Carl and Vilda (Krueger) Mandelko.
Delone attended Preston High School in Preston, MN. She was active in various school and church activities, band and was the 1945 Homecoming Queen, and is still wearing her crown today. After high school she worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN until marrying Rodney Langum. They moved to Minneapolis where they raised six children, then moved to Mesa, AZ, living her final years in Ramona.
Delone was a homemaker and a great mother. She was active in various committees at church, schools and their children's activities. Later in life she worked as a teacher's aide at St. Margaret Mary's Elementary School in Robbinsdale, MN. She also worked as a bridal consultant at Macy's for 22 years in Mesa, AZ. Her passions were her family, friends, golf, sewing, bingo, bridge and the casino. She always enjoyed a good party!
Delone is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney L. Langum; parents, Carl and Vilda Mandelko; brothers, Charles and Delbert Mandelko; son-in-law, John Hegland; and other loving family members. Delone is survived by her six children, Carol Hegland, Kathleen (Merlin) Jewell, Kyle (Dedra) Langum, Kristin (Dennis) Zook, Kirk (Patty) Langum and Karla Langum; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Allan (Virginia) Mandelko. Also her precious friends Lina Aranda, Jane Sebring, Donna Dobbs, Ginger Kulka and many, many other friends.
Our Mother was a gracious, loving Christian, who lived life to its fullest and was at peace with her choices, and thanks every one of you for your love and support.
A celebration of life will be at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Ramona, CA, on September 21, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, in Ramona, CA or the Elizabeth Hospice in Escondido, CA.
Bonham Bros & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.

I often think about my precious godmother and the wonderful childhood memories I had with her and family. As my dad has now become extremely weak and in hospice now, I'm reminded of my last, precious conversation with DeLone. She remains so very dear to my heart!

My sincere condolences.
Delone was an amazing lady. I had no idea just how many Grandchildren and then Great grandchildren she had, what a legacy she has left. I will always think of Delone whenever a see a Christmas village set up and the amazing one she set up at Christmas.
She will be truly missed I am happy I had the pleasure to meet her.
