William Stuckey Obituary

Bill Stuckey retired Business Manager of Ironworkers Local 229 of San Diego, was born in Provo, Utah, February 11, 1956, and passed at home with family at his side on January 28, 2014.
Bill grew up in Bonita, California, and graduated Bonita Vista High School in 1974. In his youth he participated in endurance rides including the Tevis Cup (100 Miles in one day). He had a passion for grandchildren, gardening, wine, sport fishing and poker. He lived in Ramona, California, for the past 25 years.
Bill is survived by his three children, Dallas (Richard) Meadows, Bradford and Desserray Stuckey; along with two grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan Meadows; siblings, Diane Bartlett, Sam and Wade Stuckey; five nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews; and many friends and coworkers throughout the United States.
Our greatest memory of Bill was his large and giving heart. Bill was there to help anyone who was in need of help.
Services will be held on February 15, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Community Church, 1191 Meadowlark Way, Ramona, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Ironworkers Scholarship fund to be established.

I just learned of Bills death today (3/20/2014). Instantly I remember the day of my husbands funeral, Billy wanted to help me and my family out. He took the many flowers we had and brought them to my house, arranged them so they all could be seen. My husband loved the Stuckey family. I am deeply saddened that someone with such a bright smile would leave this earth so early.

Gone home...Billy, many years ago you led me through the dark of night at the Tevis Cup Race, you riding on little Sue, and me on old Joaquin, whom we both learned, after the moon had set,was night blind. The apple didn't fall far from the tree is how I'll always remember you. Give Betty and W.K. a big howdy and tell'm I'll be along one day. May the blessings of God bring comfort and peace to all that love and admire you.

my horse Cognac sends his condolences as well

Diane and fam, sure hated to hear about the loss of our little cuz, Billy. His picture says it all, a big loving smile and a sparkle in his eyes reflects a dynamic personality whom was loved by all. So sorry our family didn't get to share time together throughout the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Stuckey Family,
I'm a retired Ironworker of Local #229 and worked with all the Stuckey boys father included. Bill senior was the Business Manager when I transferred into Local #229 in 1975. I worked with Bill at SONGS for 2 or 3 years, and enjoyed it very much, good hand and great man. I am very sad to hear of his passing. God Bless the Stuckey family.

To The Stuckey Family...so very sorry for your loss. When living in Bonita, Bill and I were good friends, but haven't seen or heard from him in years, especially because I moved to Oregon. My condolences to the whole family. May he rest in peace along with his mom and dad.
