Mary Reilly Obituary

Mary Reilly, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her children, Anne Sundell of Rio Vista, Kathleen Rickard of Rancho Cordova, Regina Rickard Lee (Brian) of El Dorado Hills, Tim Rickard (Lisa) of Galt, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and brother Paul Reilly of Roseville. Mary was the oldest of five and a native Californian, born June 10, 1938, in San Francisco. She grew up in Oxnard and San Jose, graduating from Notre Dame High School and attended San Jose State University. In earlier years, Mary was a homemaker and fine seamstress, applying her talents to making her family's clothing, draperies, furniture reupholstery as well as taking on many projects. She loved reading and frequently shared thoughts with others on new books she had discovered. Outside the home Mary worked for 30 years as the Office Administrator for St. John Vianney Church in Rancho Cordova. She was active in her parish and volunteered for many fund-raising events over the years. She had a gifted talent for painting and took many courses in various media. She was appreciative and most thankful for the health and well-being of her family and her beautiful garden where many family gatherings were held. Mary was a proud resident of Rancho Cordova since 1965.

So sorry for your loss. Mary was my mother´s (Elizabeth Young Downing) first cousin on Marcella Young´s side of the family. I enjoyed getting to know Mary through Facebook. She will be missed.
