Adam Kightlinger Obituary

ABSAROKEE, Mont. - Adam Kightlinger was our miracle baby born into this world on April 9, 1985, to Oren and Susan (Knudson) Kightlinger. Complications at birth meant rushing Adam to Denver Children's Hospital. Growing up Adam loved being on the move - on a bike, a four-wheeler, a car. He enjoyed hunting with his father, spending half his summer with Grandma Marilyn and his cousins on the farm and the other half with his Grandma and Grandpa Kightlinger in Mound City. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and any time spent with siblings was special for Adam. In young adulthood Adam faced challenges most of us cannot fathom. Surrounded by the love and support of family, friends, and AA brothers and sisters he fought a good fight. Wise beyond his years, Adam touched the hearts of all. He never took note of outward appearances, age, race or class, but cared for all. He loved and lived fully and will be remembered for his unconditional kindness. The Lord took Adam home Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. Adam's beloved family includes daughter, Seymone Crows Heart-Kightlinger; mother, Susan Kightlinger and Bill Durst; father, Oren Kightlinger and Pam Kightlinger; his grandparents, Marilyn and Larry Vandervorst (Leslie Knudson), Orval Kightlinger (Ardella Kightlinger), and Peg Paris (Forest Paris); sisters, Nicole Daniel and Grace Kightlinger; brother, Michael Durst; nephews, Michael and Jordan Daniel; special friend, Leili Crows Heart; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A Vigil Service for Adam will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 and Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, both at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Absarokee. Dear family of Adam...I can not help but smile everytime I think of Adam. Though I have not seen him for many years, I've thought of him often. You don't forget a little kid who came into our 4th grade classroom EVERY day with that special smile on his face. What a kid! Yes, he always made my day.
It was so nice to visit with you this morning Pam...thank you.
Know that Adam's family and friends are in my prayers.

Adams Family. No words can take the pain and grief you must be feeling but hopefully knowing that Adam was loved by so many and the support of your friends can give you the strength to keep going. The angels have surely been singing with joy. God Bless.
