Darlene Wilson Obituary

Darlene J. Klosterman Wilson, of New Underwood, died in her sleep on August 17, 2025 after a very brief illness. She was 92 and living in Albuquerque, New Mexico near her son, Rick, and daughter-in-law, Therese. Darlene was predeceased by her husband, Richard Keith Wilson and two of her children, Jeff Wilson and Dawn Post. She is survived by her son Rick, daughters-in-law Linda and Therese, four grandchildren: Jason, Randy, Jacob, Megan, four great-grandchildren and her sisters Patsy Mercy and Roberta Butler.

Darlene grew up in New Underwood, South Dakota. On June 22, 1952 she and Keith Wilson from Elm Springs, South Dakota were married. As an Air Force Officer's wife, Darlene lived in many places, including Colorado Springs; Seattle; Riverside, California; Tokyo, Japan; and Omaha, Nebraska. She loved square dancing and was part of the Mix-Masters group in Omaha. This led to adventures all over the world – often on cruises. Darlene and Keith became full time RV travelers from 1996 until 2002. After that, they settled into Harlingen, Texas. Darlene moved to Albuquerque in 2023 to be closer to her family.

Darlene will be buried with her husband at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota in the summer 2026.
