Hiram Hagenbuch Obituary

DANVILLE — Hiram John "Pappy" Hagenbuch, 90, of Narehood Road, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 23, 2006, at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

He was born May 21, 1916, in West Chillisquaque, a son of the late Franklin and Pearl (Steinman) Hagenbuch. He married the former Helen B. Yingling, who preceded him in death May 25, 2002.

Hiram had been employed by the Philco Ford Corp. and later by Zenith Co., retiring in 1978. He had also worked on construction of Interstate 80 for some time.

He was a member of Trinity (Oak Grove) Lutheran Church, Danville.

Mr. Hagenbuch was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Danville.

He enjoyed leather working and hunting and was an avid gardener.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, William R. and Carrie V. Hagenbuch of Danville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herman D. Hagenbuch Sr.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, where the funeral will follow at 8 with the Rev. Melody Sell officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hiram's memory may be made to the Trinity (Oak Grove) Lutheran Church Building Fund, 130 Hagenbuch Loop, Danville, PA 17821.
