I met Jeanette shortly after arriving at Ft. Riley. We were both assigned to the 1st Adjutant General Company. Our particular offices were just a few steps away from one another.
As time passed, we got to know one another and we became good friends. Jeanette always had a smile and never spoke ill of anyone.
I remember that she lived off post with her children Shawn and Melissa. There was also a time when her niece Deborah Carr also lived with her.
Jeanette threw a birthday party for me when I turned 21. This is one of the many different things that she would do for her friends.
After my time in service came to an end, I managed to lose contact with Jeanette. When the internet became available, I started to look for my Army friends. Sadly, the only way that I was able to find out anything about these friends was after they passed away.
Jeanette was one of the special people that few will ever know. She was a total sweetheart.
Rest In Peace, Jeanette. The world was a much better place with you.

Jeanette and I were friends during our period of service at Ft Riley. We were both working as Personnel Actions specialists. I remember her as a very sweet and caring person.
Rest In Peace Jeanette.

I knew Jeanette in high school. Although, we ran in different circles, she wrote to me when my husband, Les Erikson, passed. Jeanette always had a zest for life and a smile on her face. The tribute to her is beautiful. I hope she had a wonderful life. I hope her family heals soon because I believe Jeanette would want her family to have the same joy in life that she had.
