Joshua MacKenzie Garner
RAPID CITY - Joshua MacKenzie Garner, 18, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Rapid City. Joshua was born December 14, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. He moved with his family to Rapid City, SD in 2012, where he spent the next 12 years of his short but magnificent life.
Joshua was a man of great love and compassion. He approached every situation with a strong sense of grace, conviction, and an endless supply of great one liners. He always had a smile on his face and could always make anyone laugh uncontrollably without even seeming to try.
Joshua had no restrictions when it came to being there for others. His strong will and uplifting attitude was intoxicating and invigorating; he could get you ready for any challenge. He always had compassion and a quick hug and "I love you" to anyone within arms reach.
Josh would spend endless hours loving his pet chickens or riding his motorcycle through the hills. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Joshua's life was truly embodied by the words of his final Instagram quote.
Yesterday was history,
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift, that's why it is called the Present.
He was the best of all of us in one strong, magnificent, gentle giant body!
A memorial fund has been established under Josh's name at Black Hills Federal Credit Union. Funds raised will be given to places Josh loved.
Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Josh's Life will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Orchard Meadows Family Dental, 2606 Elderberry Blvd. from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We are so very sad to hear of Josh's passing. We knew him from basketball and he was always such a quiet and polite boy. You must be so proud.
The obituary is wonderfully written. What a tribute to a great kid.
