June 17, 1936 - February 12, 2025
Paul David Arthur was born to Lucille Clara (McGannon) Arthur and Herman Francis Arthur June 17, 1936 in Rushville, NE. He grew up in Chadron and Rushville. He married Mary Agnes McGowan, and settled in Rapid City in 1980. Paul taught auto mechanics and was a lifelong faithful Catholic.
Paul is survived by Mary, his wife of 63 years, five children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Tim Arthur, sister Patty Nebel, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard, sister Mary Jo Marshall, and two infant daughters.
Paul died Feb. 12, 2025 at Monument Hospice House. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Feb. 20 at Blessed Sacrament in Rapid City, vigil service to follow. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at Blessed Sacrament, burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions directed to Paul's favorite charities.

Mary and Family: So sorry to hear of Paul´s passing. I have fond memories of you and Paul as some of the first people Marcy and I got to know upon our move to Rapid City. I will always remember how much I looked forward to our Catholic family discussion group. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I just started reading a book and Chapter One is titled "Let Your Life Speak". The book goes on to talk about Lives Well Spent. It made me think of my brother-in-law Paul. His life was definitely well spent. So sorry for your loss Mary and family. I wish I could be there for the visitation & funeral. Brother & Uncle John.

I just by chance saw Mr. Arthurs obituary, I was one of his mechanic students at Western Dakota Vo-Tech. He taught me a lot and I still use it today. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Mary and Family,
Our thoughts and condolences are with you at this time.
Paul was a knowledgeable individual about real life issues and was always interesting to visit with. Since we are in Arizona we will not be at the funeral but we will be thinking of all of you and offer our sympathy.
