Robert Blair Obituary
December 1, 1960 - May 7, 2025
Robert Lee Blair passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 7, 2025.
Bob was very active in Boy Scouts of America and the Big Brothers and Sisters program in his early years where he acquired his love of camping. He could go camping anytime whether it was winter or summer.
He graduated from Central High School in Rapid City in 1979, before moving to Anchorage, Alaska with this wife, Becky. He graduated Indiana University East and then worked as an accountant for Wernle Youth & Family Foundation. He loved his work on behalf of the children during his time there but retired due to medical issues, having survived cancer.
Bob's first love was Becky, who was the love of his life. They married on November 27, 1982, in Indiana and were married for 43 years.
He also loved to drive his Harley, especially during the Sturgis Bike Rally, traveling to Rapid City most every year. He loved listening and watching hockey games with his brother and sister-in-law, spending many evenings chattering back and forth about the status of the games.
He loved spoiling his cats and would dote on them every chance he got.
We will miss you, Bob, and will see you in heaven.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Niehaus and father, William Blair. He is survived by his wife, Becky Blair, and his siblings: Kelly and Jeff Myrlie of Rock Rapids, IA: Tom and Sharon Blair, Rapid City, SD; and Cindy and Tim Hulla, Boise, ID. At his request, there will be no services.

I was saddened to hear about the loss of Bob! He was a true 79´er who had a big heart and a wonderful smile! Prayers go out to the families of Bob!!

Bob was always wonderful to help purchase supplies for my Art students through Donors Choose. He always had a heart for kids. He once told me his favorite part of his job was giving the kids at the home he worked at their allowances so he could interact with them and make their lives a little brighter. Bob´s kindness and generosity touched a lot of young people living in challenging situations. Bob´s heart touched many and he will be greatly missed.
