RAPID CITY - Wilma Arlene Platter, 89, Rapid City, S.D., passed away on October 20, 2024. She was born July 13, 1935, to Joseph and Rella (Speicher) Sell, in Salisbury, Pa.
Wilma attended school in Salisbury. She worked as a Nurse's Aide in a retirement home and in the clothing manufacturing business.
Wilma had two children, Roy and Sandra "Sandy." Wilma married the love of her life, Luther Platter on May 17, 1970 in Grantsville, Md., and gained two more children, Harold and Deborah "Debbie." Wilma resided in Grantsville until she moved to Rapid City, S.D. in 2017.
Wilma loved to travel, read, write in her journal, and play bingo.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Roy (Amy) Kinsinger, Sandy Kinsinger, Harold (Judy) Platter and Debbie (Roy) Holliday; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; half-brothers, Walter Spiker, George Spiker, Ellis Spiker, and Calvin Spiker; half-sisters, Evelyn Maust and Helen Dishong; niece, Joyce Spiker; and grandson, Roy Holliday.
Wilma will be laid to rest next to her beloved Luther at the Grantsville Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are with Kirk Funeral Home.
