Cynthia Marie Warden
On March 1, 2022, Cynthia Marie Warden of Hamilton passed away after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Born on October 1, 1953 to Edwin and Doris Hall in Orange County, California. Cindy moved with her family to Texas, where she graduated from Spring Woods High School in1971. She met and later married Daniel J. Warden. Dan became a petroleum engineer for BP. It was while following her husband on his assignments, that Cindy completed her own undergraduate work, and received a BA from the University of Colorado. Subsequent to a divorce from Dan, Cindy proceeded to follow her own interests in wildlands, especially national parks and the native fauna and flora. While in Colorado she became involved in volunteer work with the National Park Service in Rocky Mountain National Park, this lead to her becoming a resource management ranger in Yellowstone National Park. There, in addition to receiving a law enforcement commission, she worked on exotic plant issues, bear management, wolf reintroduction and other subjects of resource concern. It was Cindy, who secured and documented the first lake trout to be taken from Yellowstone Lake. Moving from Bozeman to Hamilton in 2001 she became employed at The Canyons Athletic Club in 2007 where she worked until her health failed.
Cindy was a life long lover of the outdoors and animals. This included her penchant for being an avid hiker and photographer of both native fauna and flora. The grizzly bears of Yellowstone were one of her particular passions. On the domestic animal side, her dogs and cats were one of her greatest priorities in life. For a number of years she engaged in conformation competitions with her golden retrievers. Her dogs brought her so much joy and comfort in her final days, where her often repeated wish was to have them with her until the end.
Although, we are grateful her suffering is over, we will all miss the sunshine she would bring.
Cindy was a true friend, one who blessed us all with her amazing spirit. The memories we have, will remain in our hearts forever.
There will be a Celebration of Cindy's Life May 22, 2022 at 4:00pm at The Canyons Athletic Club for all who wish to attend.
