Dale H. Smith

Dale H. Smith, a long time Hamilton resident, passed away at home, with his family, June 8th, 2021.

A WWII veteran, Dale was active in many local civic organizations and a Lead Hunter's Safety Instructor for over thirty years, teaching over 10,000 kids. Dale worked for the Montana Power for most of his life. His self taught passion for gunsmithing and love of creating beautiful firearms lead to owning, Smith's sporting goods store in Hamilton. Dale worked passionately at the state level for sportsman's rights and the welfare of wildlife nationwide. Fishing, hunting, flying, match target shooting and pets kept him engaged for all of his days.

No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bitter Root Humane Association.

I remember Knowing Dale when he introduced me to the practice of reloading. I last saw him about a year ago. So very sad to hear that he passed
