Nancy Jo Maday

Nancy Jo Maday, 72, of Bettendorf, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021. Visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4-7pm at The Runge Mortuary. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:30am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Iowa Public Radio or the Midwest Dachshund Rescue. Nancy was born March 31, 1949 in Sheridan, WY. She was the daughter of Arnold Raudsep and Margaret (McIntyre) Wetzsteon. She married Ron Maday on February 14, 1975 in Holdrege, NE. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work in 2010 from the University of Iowa and worked as a Post Adoption Support Specialist prior to her retiring in 2017. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making jewelry, reading books, especially mysteries/suspense novels and baking. Her greatest love though was spending time with her husband and two daughters. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron, Bettendorf, daughters: Miranda Maday (Bryan English), North Liberty, IA and Melissa (Korianne) Gevaert, Waterloo, IA, grandkitties, Freyja and Trillian, grandpuppies, Zelda and Buddee, brother, John Raudsep, Hamilton, MT, sister, Fran (Joe) Ayres, Port Townsend, WA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Raudsep, sister, in infancy, Roberta and grandpuppies, Aka and Cinnamon.
