Michael Everett East

Michael East Obituary

Michael Everett East was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to Joseph and Lois East. Mike loved hunting and fishing with his dad and watching the Yankees play. Through perseverance and spirit, he overcame many obstacles to become a kind, holy, and loyal man. When asked how he had survived his fight with cancer so long, he replied, "Prayer, perseverance and the people I hang out with."

After graduating from St. Joseph's military high school in Hays, Kansas, Mike had his own shoe repair business, attended barber school and had an associate degree from the University of Montana in culinary arts. He worked as baker until he retired.

In 1996, he moved to Missoula where he met and married his love, Jane Tremper East 20 years ago. Together, they lived a life in service to others through Secular Fransciscans, Knights of Columbus, East Missoula Lions Club and visiting and helping friends who could not get out themselves.

Mike loved his wife and family, playing cards with his friends, telling jokes, the outdoors and being in the Mall Walking Group. He is survived by his wife, Jane, his sister, Patsy Martin, and a multitude of cousins and friends who all loved him very much and will miss his special courage, humor and heart.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in his honor may be made to Partners in Home Care Hospice, 2673 Palmer Street, Missoula, MT. 59808 Michael Everett East 1949 - 2025
