Jim Pratt

1933 - 2018

Jim Pratt age 84, of Frankford, passed away February 21, 2018 at the Hannibal Regional Hosptital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday February 26, 2018 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Gail Aurand officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Frankford. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jim was born October 7, 1933 in Louisiana the son of Charles T. and Nina Krigbaum Pratt. He married Helen Halliburton December 17, 1976. She survives. Other survivors include 2 children Ron Pratt (Lauri) of Alpharetta, GA, and Tracy Jo Smith of Rolla; 5 step-children Dennis McMillen (Debby) of Center, Jan Beshears of Bowling Green, Terry McMillen (Judy) of Paris, Mike McMillen (Leslie) of Frankford, Brad McMillen (Christine) of St. Peters; brother Charles Pratt of Louisiana; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Charlene Henry and Blanche Byington; son Jeffrey Kent Pratt; and one brother William Pratt.
Jim attended Louisiana High School, left in 1951 to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years. After service he worked for C.T. Sisson for 20 plus years then Pike Grain County for 27 years. He was later awarded a high school diploma from the state of Missouri. His class of 1949 football team was inducted into the Louisiana High School Hall of Fame in February 2017. He was a member of the American Legion Post 370 in Louisiana. Jim enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Shortline 66, watching westerns and the Cardinal Baseball Team. Pa Jim also enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry with Milam when he came to visit. Jim enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and riding his golf cart around town. He was quite the carpenter and made many keepsakes for the family.
Pallbearers will be Albert Beshears, Shelton McMillen, Timothy Pratt, Taylor Pratt, Toni Doggett and Kristen Hampton.
