Shirley Buckley

1936 - 2019

Shirley J. Buckley, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away February 15, 2019 at the St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Mo.
From her birth on August 31, 1936 to her death on Friday she nourished so many people around her with love and faith. She was born in Pana, Ill. to Bernard and Velma (Snyder) Hilton. She was the youngest of five children. Two days after graduating from High School in Pana, Ill., she married the love of her life, Jacob Daniel Buckley, on June 5, 1955.
Left to honor and remember her love are her loving husband Dan of 63 years, her three children, Kathy (Gary Webber) Weiss, Brian Buckley, and Mindy (Scott Hipes) Jensen, her four grandchildren, Travis (Amanda) Glascock, Alex (Emily) Jensen, Kim (Keith Walters) Jensen, and Dakota Hipes, her four great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Bailee, Blaine, and Jacob, a sister, Wanda Lou Mansfield, and nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her three brothers, Barney, Bill and Jim.
Shirley will be remembered as a loving, caring, and nurturing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing on the porch watching hummingbirds, cooking, gardening, and playing cards with her friends.
Over the years she was a member of many organizations, the most recent were Garden Club, Red Hats, and the Greenwood Cemetery Committee.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph Hospital West, the staff at Pike County Memorial Hospital, and especially Dr. Jennings and the staff at Pike County Home Health Care for their loving care.
Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.
