He was the husband of The Reverend Nancy M. (Meader) Packard. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Albert E. Packard Sr. and Mabel M. (Laverriere) Packard.
He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Spring Township, and St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Goffstown, New Hampshire.
He was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, and a Master of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Southeastern Massachusetts University at Dartmouth.
He served 6 years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Packard was an Assistant Professor of Biology and Medical Technology at Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire, for 27 years; served as an instructor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Manchester, New Hampshire; served as Program Director of the School of Clinical Laboratory Science at the New York Methodist Hospital Center for Allied Health Education, in Brooklyn, NY and as Instructor of Clinical Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology at Alvernia University in Reading, PA. He was also a longtime member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his son, David Robert Packard of Somerville, Massachusetts, and his daughter, Lynn Anne Reed, wife of John Reed of Hooksett, New Hampshire. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara Louise Reed and Jessica Lynn Reed. Also surviving are his siblings: Linda M. Unger, wife of Stephen Unger of Newfoundland, NJ; George Packard, husband of Loretta Packard of South Lawrence, MA; Karen Gazzara, wife of Michael Gazzara of Litchfield, NH; and Lisa Marooney, wife of Timothy Marooney of Manchester, NH.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Packard.
Memorial Services will be held in both Sinking Spring, PA, and Goffstown, NH.
The service in Sinking Spring will be celebrated at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 2848 St. Alban's Drive, on Monday, January 5th at 10 a.m. The Rt. Reverend Sean Rowe, Bishop Provisional of the Diocese of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, will serve as the celebrant. A calling hour, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., will precede the service.
The service in Goffstown will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 7 North Mast Road, on January 17th at 2 p.m. The Reverend William Exner, Rector, will serve as the celebrant. A reception will immediately follow the service in the undercorft of the church.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

It was the greatest pleasure having Mr. Packard as my instructor for both Physiology lab and Microbiology Lab at Alvernia. A very smart man who brought so much to those around who wanted to learn about the amazing world of science. You will be missed. Rest in peace.
