Born on Nov. 30, 1917, in Mechanicsburg, to the late Harry Miles Glenn and Sara Helen (Buffington) Glenn, she was raised in Mechanicsburg with her brother and two sisters and was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School.
In December 1945, Annabelle married H. Carl Weston at the Little Church Around the Corner in NYC. Annabelle was married to Carl for 49 years until his death in 1994.
Annabelle and Carl first lived in Wernersville, then in 1956 they purchased their home in Mifflin Park. They lived there for almost 50 years.
During the years of raising her family, Annabelle was employed at Governor Mifflin High School cafeteria and Whitner's and Pomeroy's department stores.
She was also a volunteer with the Reading Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and later volunteered as a library helper at Governor Mifflin Elementary School.
Annabelle was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Her persistent faith was well known among her family and friends.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Highlights for Annabelle were to see her daughter Ann marry Richard F. Venne, her son Michael's graduation from Ursinus College and the birth of her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She always felt so lucky that she had two grandchildren, David and Kristen Venne, close by and loved to visit her two Californian grandchildren, Molly and Joe Weston.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Venne, wife of Richard Venne, Mifflin Park; son, Michael Weston, Copperopolis, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Amy (Gardella) Weston; four grandchildren: David Venne, and fiancee, Kirsty Antosy; Kristen (Venne), and husband, Michael J. Marcinko; Molly A. Weston; and Joseph M. Weston; and her special great-grand-children: Taylor, Brooke and Trey Marcinko.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Rachel Jane Sheetz, Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Glenn; and sister, Mary Louise Lins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with the Rev. Megan Huesgen officiating. Burial will be immediately following at Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
