Arthur Becker

1946 - 2022

Arthur Westley Becker, age 75, of Hamburg, PA departed this life on January 2, 2022 at Reading Hospital. He was born on August 19, 1946 in Reading, PA, and was pre-deceased by his parents, Arthur Becker and Hannah Hawker Becker, as well as his sister, Marlena Dietrich. Art, affectionately known as “Dusty”, enjoyed a long career as a plant manager with NGK Metals until his retirement in 2013. His employment with NGK took him to Sweetwater, TN, where he and his wife resided for 20 years. While in Tennessee, he enjoyed, boating, fishing, car shows and old western movies. Dusty returned to Pennsylvania in 2018 to be close to family. He was a member of Bridge Church in Hamburg, PA and the Kempton Rod and Gun Club, Kempton, PA. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Joan (Guistwite) and his daughter, Dawn wife of Ken Allwoerden, Newark DE. He is also survived by his brother, William Dietrich and wife Mary, Pleasant Mount, PA, as well as his wife’s extended family, including sisters-in-law, Susan (Charles), Nancy (Dale), Sandra (Steve) and brother-in-law Jerry (Stacy), as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Zeus.
At this time given COVID-19, a memorial service will not be held. Cremation performed by Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Fleetwood, PA.
