Born in Al- sace Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Esther (Folk) Hinkle.
She was employed as a candy packer for 14 years by Godiva Chocolates, and was employed as a receptionist for 16 years by Behm Chiropractic in Exeter.
Barbara enjoyed playing the organ, collecting angels and growing roses.
She attended Spies-Zion Church.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Chris M., and Julie Peckham of Muhlenberg; two daughters: Cheryl A. Peckham of Exeter and Caryn M. Heimbach and her husband, James, of Exeter; one sister, Regina Manwiller, widow of Stanley Manwiller, Exeter; four grandchildren: Jessica and Jared Peckham and Samantha and Brittany Heimbach; three nieces: Charmaine Keller, Judy Kirn, and Loreen Duff; and three nephews: Ronald and Kenneth Wegman and Carl Manwiller.
She was preceded in death by a sister, A. LaRue Wegman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley, with Rev. Merrill R. Marisseau officiating.
Burial will follow in Spies-Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reading Regional Cancer Center, PO Box 16052, Reading, PA 19612.

My son and I both had the pleasure of working with Barb. She was such a kind lady. My son often told me how nice she was to him when he began his awkward first days working in her department with people he didn't know. She'll be missed by all of us at Godiva.
