Born in Adamstown, PA, he was the son of George M. and Gertrude (Stauffer) Leed.
He graduated from the former Terre Hill High School, Shippensburg University and Columbia University.
He was a World War II veteran and graduated from the Army War College at Carlisle.
Carl was a lifetime employee of G. W. Bollman and Co. Inc., Adamstown, and retired as corporate treasurer. During his working years, he was a member of the Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals.
He was the original chairman and member of the Denver Planning Commission.
He served many years as treasurer of Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver, PA, where he was a member.
Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather, teaching his children and grandchildren good values.
He was interested in sports, especially golf and baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Miller) Leed. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in December. He is also survived by children: Jeffrey A., husband of Faye (Miller) Leed, Wyomissing; Nancy J., wife of Larry Zeamer, Lititz; and Carin L., wife of Brian Latshaw, Wernersville. He had 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by a brother, Donald, Denver; and was predeceased by a brother, Dean S., Florida.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 420 Main Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor C. Michael Roney, officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
